Good evening peeps…..
Hope you all had a good and a blessed Easter…
I had a relaxed Easter and not much happening besides a day trip to a sacred place called Sikh Temple Makindu. If you are driving to Mombasa or back from Mombasa to Nairobi I would suggest you have a stopover at the temple.
The Temple off the main road, a place of worship for Sikhs, which can be identified from a distance by the tall pole with the Sikh flag.
Makindu is famous because of the Temple. Awesome place about 2 and a half hours drive from Nairobi and a good stopover for travelers going from Nairobi to Mombasa or vice versa… They always have something for the tired to eat as long as you don’t waste food and a place to rest. Respect the culture and become a part of it for the short while you are there.
The ambiance is very peaceful. There is a park for children, green lawns for families to sit on the ground. Big parking space. Neat and clean washrooms they do not charge you for anything but you can donate whatever you can or are capable of, that’s it.
One thing I really loved is they never look at cast, creed or religion of a person, for them everyone is one and I salute them for that. No matter where you come from you are welcomed. I wish everybody learns from this we are all one and religions separated us, let us not decrement anybody and believe in being human than being separated by casts, creeds and religion.
I always say Pictures don’t do justice, you need to visit it to see the true hospitality and the delicious food they serve.
There are some rules and regulations we need to follow when inside the temple, we need to put a scarf on the head which are available next to the door and for dining we must finish what’s in our plate as there is no tolerance on wastage of food.
And if you are a coffee lover like me kindly do a stop at Distinct they serve one of the amazing coffee.
Thank you if you liked it kindly do comment, If you want me to share anything kindly do let me know.
